My parents were actively involved in the Hotel / Tourism business on the Island and as a result, from a very early age, I was privileged to meet many people who would later become quite famous in the motorcycle world and a few even became World Champions in what is described as the "Golden Years" of motorcycle racing.
A close neighbour was Vera Crooks mother of the well known UK Suzuki dealer and former Manx Grand Prix winner Eddie Crooks. I have had a long association with Eddie and latterly his son Martin, a portion of which is documented in this web site. It was from Eddie that I caught the Suzuki 2 stroke bug which remains with me to this day. It's interesting to see some of the early photographs and compare them to more recent shots of the same people.
Tired Iron Racing has been fortunate to obtain some bikes from the 60's and the 70's. These old machines are actively raced so that all may enjoy the sights and sounds of the "Classic" Grand Prix era when competition and motorcycle development were at a fever pitch. We still compete today at various events both in Europe and North America so please refer to the Website for the 2007 dates and locations. We maintain close ties to Crooks Suzuki as well as many of the old team members, one of which still rides competitively for us.
